The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly thing going on over at Crazy-for-Books. Follow My Book Blog Friday is hosted by Parajunkee. If you're a new blogger, like I am, or have been blogging for a while, stop by the sites and get involved!

Weekly question: What are your feelings on losing followers? Have you ever stopped following a blog?
I don't think anyone personally likes to lose followers. At first, seeing I've lost followers feels like a slap in the face - like personal rejection. Then I realize that I'd rather have followers who are genuinely interested in following my blog, and who actively show their interest through comments. Sure, having a greater number of followers would be nice, if they were all interested. I'm not going to say I'd rather have less followers, because who honestly wants that?
And yes, I've previously stopped following blogs - it only happens if the blog becomes inactive or I lose interest in their posts.
Enjoy the Hop...stop by my blog if you like.

I have never stopped following a blog thus far and some of my favorite authors right now are Elizabeth Kostova, Suzanne Collins, J.K. Rowling, Kelly Armstrong, Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend:)
popping by from the hop!
ReplyDeleteI agree - nobody likes to loose followers lol I try to take you attitude about wanting only interested followers.. but it still stinks lol
I hadn't hopped in awhile and just wanted to stop by and say "Hi!"
ReplyDeleteI'm always a little bummed when I lose followers but make every effort to
ReplyDeleteturn every lost follower into a learning experience so I can improve my
performance.
On the flip side, I only stop following people when they give me a reason to
such as being totally off message or being too controversial in an negative,
over-the-top way.
Happy Book Blogger Hop Friday!

ReplyDeleteHey Alissa, just hopping on by! I agree, having followers who are interactive and post comments is really much more rewarding than a bunch who don't. Actually getting to know my followers through their comments has been one of the best parts of the blogging experience for me!
ReplyDeleteI'm an old follower hopping by to say hello! I haven't stopped following any blogs yet either. I would be afraid I'd miss a great giveaway or an interesting book review since I'm always searching for some new book series to get excited about.
