Grammar Bit #4.




Who or Whom?

Use Who if it can be replaced with he, she, they, or we.

EX. Who is reading?
[He] is reading?
[She] is reading?
[They] are reading?
[We] are reading?



Use Whom if it can replaced with him, her, them, or us.

EX. The patient whom I diagnosed was shy.
I diagnosed [him].
I diagnosed [her].
I diagnosed [them].
I diagnosed [us].

  2. Thank you for this! I never knew when to say 'who' or 'whom' (well...I'm sure I was taught at some point in school).
